Got a car today. THE car actually. Have been chasing one since Thursday last and had an eye on this from the start. Mainly because the owner sounds trustworthy and that appears to be more than just his manners. Although I had a look on a few others cars that were for sale closer to home, they seemed to have served as perspective. Younger cars, Landcruisers, all fine but not in very good states. This one is older, but only from age. We bought a Toyota Hilux Surf 1989 in an excellent state and a little below our maximum budget (so I can get a 2nd hand bullbar fixed). A Japanese import, thus after reaching the 100.00 km put away for years without use until it was 15 yo and was ready to export to Australia. Now totally done up by the owner and serviced by a friend mechanic. This car is what we wished for and more. It will last us at least 10 years by the looks of it. On top of its good state it is sheer luxurious; cd, dvd, tv, mp3-player and alarm immobiliser. It was serviced and checked today and the one fault it had was repaired. We are lucky and happy with this good fortune that seems to be with us since the day I had decided on planning our mirgation in January.
So the next few days I will get used to it, run some last errands and after a little goodbye party with our dear friend we will move up North on Sunday next.
Happy us :)
